When I
graduated from high school, I had decided to pursue English as my major subject
because I felt that was the best way to learn English. After completion of my degree,
I got married. I was a bit disappointed that I was not able to accomplish my
task of becoming an English teacher. I worried that I might not have a career
after marriage but with the motivation and support of my husband and my in law
parents I have been able to pursue a career in teaching. I was given an
opportunity to work as a primary teacher for 7 years in a Matriculation School.
When I look back, I see that there was no change in me and believed
only in rote learning. Currently I teach in Vedavalli Vidyalaya. Within 2
years in Vedavalli Vidyalaya, I was given the post of a Coordinator for Lower
Primary. My view on teaching changed within a year in this institution. I
have started to believe in joyful and self learning.
My experience here has
taught me a great deal of discipline and time management which is essential in the
teaching-learning process. I have gained the skill of problem solving. I have
been successful in establishing a good rapport with the children, colleagues
and my peer group with whom I always love to interact.
I am an optimist, a quiet achiever and a systematic planner. I am very
determined and constantly striving to be the best teacher that I can be. I
believe that I will be able to help all my students reach their optimal
potential.
